UTILITIES #1

"Relic #1: Arch" 5x7 oil on clayboard. 05-29-08

#3

One of the amazing things about any large urban area is the tracks that are left in the snow so to speak. The old rusted shells from those that came before us. Objects which at one time served their purpose tirelessly and have since gone by the wayside, even if the wayside is a major artery in a megalopolis. Like people, these objects although broken and past the age of usefulness, still retain the impression of the form they once had. The honor and dignity slowly rusting away, the stubborn and stoic soul remains long after the body has frozen. 69th street near third ave. Brooklyn.
